I got two different pony packages today.
The first was the groom pony from the wonderful Kanthaka. This poor pony couple has been a comedy of errors....I had a groom on hold from the Arena, and bragged about it prematurely. Vetten saw me mention him and volunteered to send me his lovely bride...but by the time she arrived a week or so later, I'd had to cancel the groom because I ran out of money and the seller was getting annoyed with waiting. My bride was left with no groom, which was way too much of a metaphor for me. (I've been engaged twice but never married....so, yeah.) I made it my mission to find her a groom, and was thrilled when Veda offered this handsome boy. She even included his bowtie and an awesome sketch of him. Here he is with his happy bride. <3
My spotty Totsy also arrived today. Unfortunately, her hair seems to be a lost cause. Most of her mane fell out as soon as I took her out of the envelope. At first I thought it was that wierd brittle hair (even though it's orange, not pink), but the strands seem to be strong enough. Then I assumed it was the glue going bad, cause her hair comes out with the slightest tug. But when I was taking the photos, I noticed that her hair was actually broken off right up against the root....like, the root is super brittle, but the length of the strand isn't. Wierd. Anyway, she'll be getting a rehair one of these days. Hopefully I'll be able to match the color.
Totsy: "I have pony pattern baldness!"
I also got this adorable Minty-colored Lanard, who looks like she'll clean up beautifully with some conditioner.
Last but not least, I got this awesome oddity. I believe Vette has the only other known pony like her. She's missing the bottom half of the plugs in her mane, so she'll end up a rehair too.
Check out the wierd angle on that front leg! She must be double-jointed.
EDIT: Quick update on the Totsy. I washed her, and her mane did indeed fall out entirely. Her tail survived being washed, conditioned, combed, and rinsed out. I can't figure out why her mane would be so brittle, but not her tail. Wierd. The good news is that I'll probably be able to keep her tail original if I'm careful with it, and just rehair her head.
