I'm a little bit ticked off right now and I will tell you why.
It appears that the AC Adaptor for my laptop has kicked the bucket. Basically the solid green light won't light up and there is a beeping that comes from the charger istelf and not my laptop. (I've checked this by plugging it in to another socket to make sure it wasn't a laptop issue and sure enough it just beeps)
And from what I've read this means that my AC Adaptor doesn't work anymore. My laptop itself will boot up and run off battery which is good because at least the Laptop isn't screwed as far as I know.
The annoying thing is my local computer shop is shut for a while because they are relocating and rennovating so I can't get it sorted there. I'll probably have to get a hold of my oldest brother to see what he can possibly do. And this also decided to happen a week before I start college...
I'm glad though that I have access to other computers in the house so I can use them but it's still rather annoying...

I hate when that happens. The more technology you have, the more ways you have to screw everything up!

I absolutely feel your frustration abou that. My power cord is on it's way out too. There have been two or three times in the past couple weeks that I've plugged it in, and it doesn't even seem to notice that it's plugged in. It says "Plugged in, not charging" (which is what happens when it's plugged into the comp but not the wall, despite the fact that the lil green light on the cord says that it's getting power) or it won't even say "Plugged in". If I fiddle with the cord a bit (straighten it out, make sure it's not twisted, ect.) then it's started working again so far, but I suspect the problem will get worse and not better. And since I don't have an external battery charger, my laptop will lose power and be useless within a couple hours if something happens to the cord. Stupid technology. >_< Like you, I have access to another comp in the house if need be....but it's not the same, you know? I like MY computer. Have you tried going to the website of the company that made your laptop and seeing if they have the cords for sale online? If your local shop is going to be down for a while, it might be worth it to go ahead and pay the shipping fees to have a new adapter mailed to you. Best of luck either way. It's so annoying when technology goes out. Hopefully you'll get it sorted out before you start school. *hugs*

I hate when that happens. The more technology you have, the more ways you have to screw everything up! That TOTALLY describes the computers (and the IT guys) at my work. Every time they try to fix or upgrade, they just make it worse... Wishing you the best of luck in getting hold of a new adaptor!

Funny thing is out of all of the items of technnology I own (PC, DS, Camera, Mobile Phone ect.) my laptop is the only one that's ever really given me any trouble. I had a problem when I first had it of it bluscreening, and about a week ago I somehow ended up with a trojan on there which I still can't work out where the hell it came from...
Yeah my laptops kinda become my more 'personal' computer than anything else. It's where I do most of my internet surfing, college work, writing ect. And even though I have everything backed up onto an external harddrive it doesn't feel quite the same.
I don't think I'd be able to track something down off the site of my laptop maker (Sony Vaio) because my laptop was given to me second hand by my oldest brother so I think I wouldn't be able to get anything because chances are it's not under warranty. I emailed him yesterday about it and he's going to try and get me and send me a new Adapter for my laptop so I've just got to sit tight for a few days/weeks...
