I got a wisdom tooth pulled and was put on vicoden for the pain.
A day after I started taking the pills, last night, I ended up in the hospital having an allergic reaction to it. Dry heaves, nausea, chest pains and irregular breathing, fainting spells and dizziness. I had to get an IV drip put in me, amount other things, and now I have no pain pills for the jaw pain. Fuuun. I was also warned that the vicoden has a chance of making anxiety disorders worse, even after you stop taking it, for about a week... and guess who has one?
And I don't have insurance. I'm hoping that the charity forms will get accepted. ~_~;;

OMG, that sucks so incredibly hard! I'll cross my fingers those forms get accepted... Hopefully you won't have any problems with the anxiety - you honestly don't need it to get any worse than it is!
*sends huge get-better soon hugs*

That's terrible! You poor thing. As if the wisdom tooth surgery wasn't bad enough, then you get slapped with an allergic reaction on top of it. *huge hugs* Just the thought of an IV makes me nauseous. (I have tattoos and piercings, but I'm terrified of needles in my veins for some reason.)
Hopefully you'll be feeling better soon! In the meantime, I'd suggest something milder, like aspirin, for the pain. It won't help as much as the strong stuff, but you're less likely to end up with another reaction.

D: as if having a wisdom toth pulled wasnt bad enough, I could tell you a horror story & possibly make you feel a bit better about your situation though - before I started full time work, I had a gouvournment health care card, and needed to get a wisdom tooth pulled out, anyhow, the butcher of a dentist that we have for the poor people that cant afford proper health care was the guy I had to go & see about it (mind you this guys last name was malat, that didnt instill alot of confidence in me either) I sat down in the chair, he jabbed the back of my gum with that numbing needle stuff (dont know what you call it) turned around & grabbed a pair of pliers off the desk, said 'open wide' so I did assuming he was going to have a bit of a poke around before the numbing stuff kicked in, no, he grabbed the tooth & pulled it out, no pain killers, no numbing agent had kicked in, no nothing, and it was a wisdom tooth, so it was f'n deep! I seriously feel for you, dentists / doctors are scary enough without these sorts of complications *hugs*
