Aloha all! Umm I didn't make a post to let you all know I was going to be off the radar for almost 2 weeks in case anyone needed me or wondered where I ran off too....but I've been on the island of Oahu (unfourtunately back now) & I'm now a married Mrs. (got married on the 11th!) ;D
I'm loading the pictures now & I'll post some up here when they finish. I don't have any pics of the actual wedding though....just you know scenic stuff.
Missed you guys & can't wait to catch up on all the posts here!
^ I dubbed this the "Wing Wong" tree for it's protruding roots or branches of a phallic appearance. Obviously not the most scenic but kept me giggling the entire trip as this tree was behind the house we were staying at. Okay okay...I'll quit being a 5 year old little boy & move on to pics of a more serious nature. If you looked behind the tree you can see one of our views.
^ Our backyard view from the other direction. The sunlight is coming in from the clouds & hitting one of the islands.
^ DA POOL! What was cool was on the other side of the walkway running beside of the pool, there is a rock pond & the rock pond had a small waterfall that ran into the pool. What was uncool was there were these big ass jagged rocks on the side of the pool that I conked my head on plenty of times. Oww!
^ Houses on the hilltop infront of the house. Meh...I should have taken a more impressive picture than this..
^ Pic from the plane taken of Diamondhead. The reason for it's name is in the dirt/soil there are tiny bits of micah or something that when the light hits it right, the mountain shimmers & looking like it is covered in millions of sparkling diamonds.
^ I'm not one to ever be up early enough to ever see a sunrise but I took advantage of such a sight when I was on a flight to Hawaii.
^ There was a park we went to which has lots of banyan trees planted by famous people a long time ago like Babe Ruth, Amelia Earhart, & a bunch of Japanese doctors I had never heard of
^ Rescue helicopters kept flying over our house. Turns out there were some people who got stranded on one of the islands behind my house while kayaking. Yikes!
^ Anaehoomalu Bay
^ Elephant Ear tree close to Akaka Falls
^ Akaka Falls
^ Some bay over in Hilo
^ Volcano close to the Jaggar museum. Smelled like rotting eggs up there because of the sulphur...
^ Pic taken of the waterfalls on our helicopter ride
^ This was so sad to me. The helicopter pilot said that this house used to belong to a suburb called like Pinapple Cove or something & that this house is the last house that remained of that suburb. He said this house will be overtaken by lava in a couple days.
^ Where the lava was hitting the ocean
^ My sis, me, & some random dude in a crazy pink shirt
^ All the men who went down with the U.S.S. Arizona
^ It blows my mind that the Arizona was sunk nearly 70 years ago back in '41 & there is still oil leaking up to the waters surface from the battleship all these years later continuously
^ U.S.S. Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor
^ Our helicopter or "hellachapper" as Adam's little step bro calls it
^ Not really the best of pics & I know he doesn't really look that big in the pic but this little fellow was huge. I know the common assumption is that turtles are slow but sea turtles are little speed demons...maybe this assumption just applies to land turtles? But once a sea turtle comes up for air, he's gone again so take a pic while you can.
^ At the Oahu Department of Health filling out the marriage liscense. Erm not the best pic of me but Adam's expression is priceless so that's why it's one of my favs! I'm sure he's thinking "OMG What am I getting myself into?! Is it too late to run?!" Haha
^ I thought it was so cool that they had surf boards on their fire trucks. My brother in law was freaking out when he saw it (he is a fireman). Obviously these boards are for ocean rescues.
^ Bird of paradise flower
^ Crazy tree. Forgot it's name though Probably something obvious like fan tree
^ "WAINBOWWWW!"
^ I almost expect Raptors & T-Rexs to come out from behind these mountains. Jurassic Park the movie was filmed on Hawaii but I don't know if on the island of Oahu.
^ Not really Hawaii but this is my dress taken at the dress shop awhile back.
^ Here comes the newlyweds! Forgive my lack of makeup & blinding whitness. This was taken on the helicopter ride.
