Well, we have 5 actually, but Grendel was hiding and I didn't want to annoy her. The other 4 posed nicely for me though and noone tried to escape. Arachne (Solomon Island Bird Eater) Arcane (Chilean Rose Hair) Wooly Mammoth (Chilean Rose Hair) Kali (Costa Rican Zebra)

OMG - Kali is a beauty! And is Arachnes eyes twinkling? They are adorable, in their creepyness I wouldn't mind having one in a cage - it's another thing to have one running around, lol!

Cool! I wouldn't want them, like, crawling on me, but I rather enjoy their piccies. ^_^ I like Kali the best, I don't think I've seen one like her before.
My dad used to have a tarantula....a Mexican red-knee? Is that a type of tarantuala? LOL. It was when I was a kid, so I've forgotten what she was called. Apparently I touched her when I was little, but I don't remember it at all.

Yes. There are Mexican Red Knees. They used to be really popular pets but then demand went up and they are now one of the more expensive and hard to find species.

I cannot believe it, but I actually find Kali cute! I don't think I'd ever get the courage to go close to her, but in a photo, she's surprisingly gorgeous with really interesting markings. Maybe you'll convert me to arachnids yet, Kat, or at least teach me to appreciate them!
I certainly had no idea there were so many different types of tarantulas, and how very different they all look...

Impressive! Family members love them and had them as pets, but I don't think I have enough guts to hold one myself.
