Oh my goodness, I didn't even remember how many fakies I had til I pulled them all out! *faints*
I am not nearly realistic enough to shop on eBay, I think; once I buy a lot, I find it almost impossible to get rid of any of the ponies in it, even if I don't need them... and even if they're fakies. I think I've made a total of three trades in as many years on the Arena!
Hence, all of the ugly, unwanted fakies have stayed with me, even if I wasn't all that fond of them. Back when I got them, there wasn't a lot of love for the "non-pretty" (i.e. non-Princess Rinse-n-Spit) fakies, so I just held onto them rather than try to sell them. But they've sort of grown on me, and some of them I even actively look for now! <3
So here's a bunch of pics of my collection, accidental though it may be, and even a bonus pic of my childhood fakies! I tried to separate them into pictures of each "type" I have, in case anyone has any help with ID'ing the unknown ones! Thanks for reading! (Mods, if this is in the wrong place, please feel free to move it! I'm still a wee little baby fakie-lover! )
Here's a group-pic ... or at least, as close to a group-picture as I could get. See, they didn't all FIT into one picture, unfortunately!
Here's some of my favorite fakies -- the Senor Fakiepants fakies! This is how I first saw the now-infamous Senor Fakiepants:
Not too flattering, no? Of course, "Senor Fakiepants" is too goofy to be his REAL name; Senor (and two other ponies) are actually toys from an older UK cartoon, called "Star Hill Ponies." Here's a group shot of the ones I own, and a shot of the backcard of an MIB one I scored off eBay!
Senor Fakiepants (AKA "Molly" according to the card XDDD) tends to have lousy luck with the ladies; here are the only known shots of Senor with a girl. Maybe someday, Senor! You just gotta set your dumpy little sights a bit lower!
And Senor loves his momma! (She's not a fakie, she's just a conveniently-dyed discarded custom I found, and I couldn't make a post about the Senor without his Momma Fakiepants! )
Here's some of my other favorite fakies! I call these guys the Sideburns Trio, although they're also known as Backhair Fakies. Here we have (from left to right) Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven! I always thought their sideburns looked like those old powdered wigs that musicians wore; hence, their names. I got Mozart first, in another unmarked lot, and I fell in love with him! <3
And, someone at the Arena found them little shoes! Years and years ago, they PM'd me about these cute little shoes that she thought might fit the Sideburns boys. No idea WHY they fit them so well, but they do! I'd thank her, but I have completely forgotten her name! I'm sorry, kind benefactor!!
Here's the Sideburns' wild and crazy cousins, who were generously gifted to me by a very kind RAOPK on the Arena! ... and similar to the first case, once my PM's got deleted, all names promptly fell out of my head. I'm sorry! I save all my PMs now, if it's any comfort!!
... and here are some of their more 'sedate' cousins, despite the wide-eyed look of panic on the middle one. I'd really love to know how you guys classify these guys, since I want to buy another one of the pink ones for a future custom, if they're common enough!
Here's another two fave fakies of mine; Takaras! These two I bought on PURPOSE, from a lovely seller on the Arena! And as the theme of the story continues, once a year has passed, all knowledge falls out of my head. I'm sorry! They are some of my more-recent fakie purchases, although I definitely bought them at least a year ago now, before their huge price-hike. Interestingly enough, the new NBC hats fit their plump little heads perfectly, along with the vintage ponywear hats!
Here's another fakie I bought "recently" (a year ago, minimum XD) from Binkyfinder! The seapony used to be discolored, and after a huuuuge clean-up, she's now looking much happier! :> She had some kind of cement in her as a weight, and when I opened her up, dust poured out! Now, she is cement-free, and much cleaner-looking!
Some more ponies! The two on the left are childhood ponies; the pink came with a lot, and I've fallen in love with her. Rock on, scary Totsy ponies!
Here's the start of my DG fakie babies. Not a lot to explain here; I've used a couple of them for past customizing projects, and one or two are still earmarked for future ones. Still, I hope to achieve a complete rainbow someday! They're just so cuuuute! <3
This is a NEW favorite, my very first Bratz Pony! I found her at the MLPFair in Las Vegas, at Xayide2's table, and fell in LOVE. Isn't she so saucy and gorgeous!? I want more, eventually! <33333
Here's two Lanards I will probably never get rid of (even though I didn't seek them out on purpose) mostly because they're so weird. Brown ponies! Who ever heard of such a thing? I'd appreciate any info you guys can give me on how the heck they came to be!
Here's all the other Lanards I have; some doubles of the babies, obviously! And all very frizzy. 'Course, a good wash might help that... ^^;;;
My Remco fakies! Oddly enough, they have all lost the red stripe in their hair. For whatever reason, it got super-brittle and broke off! The one with the rainbow around her neck is a childhood pony. :>
My Tara ponies! I got these two in another random lot; interestingly enough, I bought this pair several years prior, when I first heard about "customized ponies" (such a novelty at the time! ), and wanted to try making one of my own. Unfortunately, nail polish and ponies don't mix very well...
Who the heck are these two!? I found the purple one at a thrift store (to this day, my ONLY thrift-store pony find), and the green one probably came in some kind of lot. Kinda fug, LOL but they're growing on me!
The freaky glass-eye CPK fakies! These guys are we-eeeird! But kinda cute, in their own odd way. They have strange symbols; like, one has a train, and two have some kind of hatching-egg type thing! DEFINITELY an accidental purchase, but they're growing on me too!
Another accidental purchase, but I really have come to adore these guys. The cuteness of Buddy L ponies, with the cutest little glass eyes! <3
Of course, I'm partial to the Buddy L brand, since they were three of my favorite childhood ponies. Here's two without saddles who I got on eBay...
And my childhood group, plus a winged interloper. They all still "gallop", except for the winged one!
Here's some random weirdies! I'm running out of space to show them all in groupings, so here's clusters of random fakies. CPK was a random eBay lot, same for the freaky little blue thing, the blue sparkle fakie was from the MLPFair in Las Vegas this summer, and the purple one is a childhood (ish) fakie I found when I was a preteen! (After I took the picture, I realized she's a Lanard, too, but I figured she's different-enough looking to warrant a different picture.)
Here's a random baby picture! Lady Baby (I think?), some random mule-eyed things with painted on diapers, an actual CUTE drink-and-wet (the yellow one), a little blue merry-go-round fakie, a purple DnW from my childhood-ish, and ... some kind of teeny-tiny pony. I have NO clue what she is; I saw her bigger counterparts mentioned in the Fakie ID thread, something like "Pony Luv"? She's weird! And tiny!
Here's her next to a Petite Pony!
Some random fakies, who seem to be in the same mold. The pink pair I found in a Target dollar bin, and couldn't resist them. They're SORTA pony-ish! And their hair is so silky!
Some more random fakies! The pink one and fuzzy one I had in my teens, so although they're not really "childhood" ponies, they're close.
Now, these two are a pair of weirdies. The one on the right is a Disney pony, who originally came with some little princess doll, but the fakie on the right ripped off its mold! ... but only the bottom half! And then they stuck some scarily-long muzzled thing on top and called it a day! She's FAR too scary for me to consider getting rid of! She's like, demented Sunny Daze! ;D
Another two fakies who were purchased as 'custom bait' and may never become so. They're pretty cool already, you know? I've grown attached!
Here's some ... well, I don't know WHAT the heck they are, really. XD They're quirky, and kinda cute! Only two are ponies, but I figured they bore mentioning.
And finally, a shot of my childhood fakies!
Thanks for reading through this HUMONGOUS post; feel free just to skim through the pictures! I hope you had fun!
